On this Feast day the Church invites us to contemplate an awesome mystery, that of the Holy Trinity. While we confess that God is intrinsically ONE we accept the teachings of Jesus who frequently refers to his “FATHER” and to another mysterious being He calls the “SPIRIT.” Did He not say: “Go and baptize all nations in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit?” In these words and others we find the basis of the doctrine on Holy Trinity.

Let us marvel at the glorious vision this revealed teaching opens to us. It’s all a mystery of LOVE. God is Love. Love always requires two PARTNERS. God who is LOVE cannot be wrapped up upon himself, living alone in isolated quarters. Jesus describes himself as being closely linked to a partner equal to Him in dignity and greatness. So we have to conclude that within God there is an intense, infinite and eternal RELATIONSHIP of indescribable love, a real eternal love party. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are bonded together in love.

From this flows something fascinating:  we are CALLED TO ENTER that sublime love affair. Jesus invites us to LIVE IN COMMUNION WITH HIM. He gave us His Spirit.  So when He loves the Father in the Spirit, we are IN HIM. The Trinity is not an inaccessible reserved domain. It is our eternal destination. Through GRACE, we already participate in that DIVINE LOVE FEAST. The TRINITY is therefore the fundamental teaching upon which rests the key teaching of the Gospel. God is love. Therefore, if we belong to Him, we must radiate his love at all time.
