After Jesus’ long teaching on the BREAD OF LIFE, some people finding his words too hard to grasp, stopped following Him. Jesus taking notice of their defection sadly remarked “The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and Life. Yet, some of you do not believe!” A minute later he added “No one comes to me unless it is granted him by my Father.”

Faith in the REAL PRESENCE of Jesus’ Body and Blood in the bread of the Eucharist is a gift fromheaven! Some smart people reject that belief because they lack this crucial help called GRACE. The realities of the WORLD ABOVE are beyond the reach of mere human understanding. We have to be lifted up to spiritual understanding by special lights from a merciful God. Blessed are those who believe in the mystery of the Eucharist!

This teaching is linked to the first commandment of the Gospel the commandment of LOVE.

When we consciously eat this SACRED BREAD and drink this SACRED BLOOD we, by the same token, commit ourselves to form ONE BODY. The one BLOOD circulates in our veins.

Believers who achieve communion with Jesus MUST BE IN COMMUNION WITH ONE ANOTHER. Through the Mass, the Church builds UNITY, PEACE and HARMONY. May we come to realize it and approach COMMUNION with greater reverence!
